We’re looking for: 
  • A detail-oriented, career minded Junior Accountant to join our team, working with experienced professionals in a sophisticated Australian advisory/consultancy firm. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles, hold a degree in accounting, and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, and collaborating with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of our client’s financial and accountancy processes.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping: 
  • Record and classify financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain general ledgers, including accounts payable and receivable. 
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial records. 

Financial Reporting: 
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Assist in the preparation of Business Activity Statements and tax reporting. 

Data Analysis: 
  • Provide support in budgeting and forecasting activities. 

Compliance: 
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. 

Software Proficiency: 
  • Utilize accounting software and other financial tools proficiently. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in accounting software.

Qualifications and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or junior accounting roles. 
  • An understanding of Australian accounting standards and regulatory environment advantageous. 

Skills: 
  • Training in accounting software (e.g., MYOB/XERO). 
  • Knowledge of Turnkey IPS Insolvency software advantageous. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Confident verbal and written English. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build positive working relationships.
