Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Collections Officer to assist with managing and collecting overdue repayments.
This will involve responsibility for tracking and managing a portfolio of overdue accounts, negotiating payment plans, and resolving any disputes or issues that arise during the collection process.
The successful candidate must have good communication skills, be well organised, and have some practical experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume collections environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure relevant notices are issued to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure email correspondence is handled in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
• Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts, including tracking and monitoring overdue payments.
• Contact customers by phone, email, SMS and other means to negotiate payment plans and collect
outstanding debts.
• Investigate and resolve any customer disputes or issues related to their account.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activity and communication with customers.
• Develop and maintain respectful relationships with customers to facilitate the collections process and
promote customer retention.
• Work with internal teams, such as sales and customer service, to resolve customer issues and improve the collections
process.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies to improve collections performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Confident spoken and written English.
• 3 years or more years collections experience.
• Good negotiation skills, and the ability to handle difficult conversations respectfully and professionally.
• Proficient in using PC and MS Office tools.
• Experience with SME collections desirable.
• Understanding of Australian regulatory environment desirable.
